Independent Charitable Patient Assistance Program (PAP) Foundation Support

GBT may provide Donations to PAPs that provide financial assistance to patients to help them access products marketed by GBT and other manufacturers (in addition to other services) when specific requirements are met, including but not limited to the following:

  1. The PAP must be, and operate as, an independent organization. The PAP cannot be subject to the direct or indirect influence or control of Company or any other donor;
  2. The PAP must have received a favorable advisory opinion from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) regarding the current operations of its assistance program;
  3. The PAP’s eligibility standards must be reasonable, verifiable, and applied in a consistent manner to all applicants for assistance who have been diagnosed with a particular disease and the cost of the specific drug prescribed for an applicant must not be a stand-alone factor in determining the applicant’s financial need

In order to be eligible for this type of funding, your organization must not be:

  • An individual, group practice, or private physician office
  • Owned in whole or in part by a physician or group of physicians
  • A charitable foundation of a group practice
  • A political or sectarian organization
  • Based outside of the United States
  • An organization with a written policy to discriminate based on race, religion, gender, gender expression and/or identity, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, or any other protected status is ineligible for funding

Follow these steps to submit a funding request:

  1. Confirm your organization’s eligibility
    Verify whether your organization is eligible to submit a funding request.

  2. Sign in or create an account An account is required to access GBT's funding request system. Click here to create an account. Be sure to save your login information for future requests

  3. Complete online application
    Complete your funding request via our funding request system. Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the desired start date of the program/activity/initiative for which you seek support.

  4. Review and submit your application
    Review your request thoroughly for accuracy and completeness before submitting it for funding consideration. A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of a submitted request to the primary and secondary contacts listed in the request.

How are requests submitted?

  • Requests must be submitted online via this portal. First time applicants will be required to create an account along with a username and password.

How long do funding decisions take?

  • Funding decisions are communicated via email within 60 days from receipt of a completed request.

What is the payment process?

  • If a funding request is approved, a signed letter of agreement outlining the terms and conditions of funding is required prior to the release of funds. Payment/s will be issued per the terms specified in the fully executed agreement.

If my request was not accepted can I submit requests in the future?

  • If a funding request is not accepted, your organization may apply for future funding. All requests that meet GBT funding eligibility requirements will be reviewed.

How do I check the status of my request?

  • To check the status of an request, login to your account and select My Submissions.

Can I start an application and come back later to finish it?

  • If you are unable to complete a request for any reason, you have the ability to save your work and login at a later time to complete it.
